GIVING AT WBC

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

The New Testament teaches us to give generously, regularly and joyfully. At Wollongong Baptist Church there are three broad areas which your giving supports:

1. Giving to reach and grow people

General giving supports the work we do to reach people with the gospel and then to grow them as God’s people here in Wollongong. This is our core mission as a church. A large portion of our Church’s giving goes toward employing pastors and ministry trainees, whose work is to equip the saints for work of service so that the whole body can grow together.

2. Giving to develop our facilities

Our facilities make it possible to keep reaching adults and children in Wollongong with the good news of the gospel. Your giving ensures we can pay our mortgage, complete repairs and invest in developing our facilities to meet the changing needs of our church and our community.

3. Giving to our gospel partnerships

Wollongong Baptist Church has a rich history of partnering with those who labour to make Jesus known both in Australian and around the world. At present we give approximately 10% of our yearly budget in financial support to several missionary families and gospel workers.

HOW TO GIVE

Electronic

Giving via electronic bank transfers is our preferred method of regularly giving because it reduces workload for our volunteers and ensures consistent and predictable giving. When you give please write the congregation you belong to (8:30,10:30 or 6pm)

Account Name: Wollongong Baptist

BSB: 704 922

Account No: 100 002 746

Cash

Each Sunday we take a cash collection by passing around ‘giving bags’ in our services. We are not shy about doing this because it demonstrates to our guests and visitors that we take the gospel seriously and it’s our joy and privilege to respond to it generously.

Loans

The church accepts short-term loans with no interest, which go towards reducing our mortgage interest payments.
