In a city that moves so fast, we often miss out on the chance to slow down and truly get to know one another. What better way to build community than by having hundreds of us gather for a meal in each others homes across Wollongong? Hospitality Sunday is a time when we can get together over a meal to get to know each other, deepen our friendships, and celebrate our unity in Jesus. Through this simple shared experience we can deepen our mutual enjoyment of Christ. We will be gathering in various locations on Sunday 9th March.
You can choose to be a host or a guest, just indicate your preference when you register:
The way it works is that you can choose to be a host or a guest, just indicate your preference when you register. Our team will then match people up based on your preferences – we will notify your of your group by Wednesday 5th March. You can get together anytime you like on the day; brunch, lunch or dinner! If you are feeling a little unsure about being paired with people you don’t know, you have the option to sign up in a ‘group’ so that you and a friend can sign up together to make sure you know at least one person. But please remember, the spirit of the meal is to develop friendships with the people you worship alongside, and it will be a richer experience to gather with people you might not know very well. Biblical hospitality is about receiving and loving the stranger.
HOSTS – being a host doesn’t necessarily involve opening your home. You could offer to arrange to meet at an outdoor venue, or a café, you just need to be the one doing the organising. If you do choose to host in your home, please indicate the maximum number of guests you can have when you register. You don’t have to cater, but you will be in charge of organising who is brining what.
GUESTS – When you register, please note how many people in your group/family and if you have any dietary requirements. Your host will possibly ask you to bring a dish to contribute to the meal.
